Supporting Students, Teachers, and Schools Throughout Mid-Del

The Midwest City Chamber of Commerce is proud to champion education through our annual Celebrating Education initiative.

Each year, local businesses, community leaders, educators, and residents come together to support Mid-Del Schools through two signature programs, Fill The Bus & Convocation.

Fill the Bus

A community-wide school supply drive held each July to collect classroom essentials for Mid-Del students and teachers.

Through generous donations from businesses and community members, Fill the Bus helps ensure students begin the school year equipped with the tools they need to succeed.

Donation Dates

July 10, July 17, and July 24

Community members are invited to donate new school supplies on any of the collection dates.

Suggested Donations

We are collecting new school supplies and classroom essentials, including:

• Backpacks

• Notebooks

• Folders

• Pencils

• Pens

• Crayons

• Markers

• Colored pencils

• Glue sticks

• Scissors

• Erasers

• Rulers

• Highlighters

• Kleenex

• Hand sanitizer

• Disinfecting wipes

• Other classroom supplies

Why It Matters

Every donated item helps support local students, families, teachers, and classrooms. Whether you donate one pack of pencils or a backpack full of supplies, your generosity makes a difference for Mid-Del Schools.

Convocation

Held each August, Convocation serves as Mid-Del Schools' official back-to-school kickoff, welcoming hundreds of teachers, administrators, and support staff back for a new school year.

As part of the Midwest City Chamber's Celebrating Education initiative, local business supporters have the opportunity to engage directly with Mid-Del employees by hosting vendor booths, sharing information about their products and services, distributing promotional items, and building relationships with school staff.

Convocation provides a unique opportunity for Chamber members to showcase their businesses while expressing appreciation for the educators and staff who make a difference in our community every day.

Through giveaways, networking, and community partnerships, Convocation creates meaningful connections between the business community and Mid-Del Schools while celebrating the start of another successful school year.
